¨Its easy to be inspired by the magic and majesty of the Baja desertscape. I find myself in awe of rugged beauty as I move through the iron trees and barrel cactus. Distance is hard to judge out here. I can wander for hours and wonder about those before me who wandered for days. Its easy to feel lost in time, and in the stillness I can feel the ghosts of the desert. It’s so quiet I can hear them. Through the scrubby foliage I catch glimpses of movement, I don't hear the footfalls, but I can clearly make out the bells. They sound like distant mission bells. I can almost feel the travellers who used this goat path a hundred years before me, if I move slow enough they brush past me. Carrying goods to market."
